What Quote Inspires You?

By Melanie Spring

Everyone has a quote or mantra they keep to remind them to stay true to who they are, stay inspired, or just keep moving.

My mantra lately has been:

Wake up.
Kick ass.
Be kind.

Today, I asked others to share theirs and was immediately surprised by the overwhelming number of them AND the breadth of difference between them.

  • Be fearless.
  • Ginger Rogers did everything that Fred Astaire ever did, but with heels on.
  • Do epic shit.
  • “Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up, it knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're the lion or a gazelle-when the sun comes up, you'd better be running.”
  • "If you have never failed, you never lived."
  • "Be yourself. Everyone else is taken." - Oscar Wilde
  • It's not about how bad you want it. It's about hard you're willing to work for it.
  • You never know how far you can go until you've gone too far.
  • Nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care. - Theodore Roosevelt
  • Smile, it makes people wonder what you're up to.
  • "How very little can be done under the spirit of fear." - Florence Nightingale
  • "I drank what?" - Socrates

We all need something to keep us inspired or even just putting one foot in front of the other. Holding onto that mantra and repeating it will allow you to own it and live it.

What's the quote that inspires you?
